Four generations of the Estrada family became among the first residents at Tesoro Viejo when the extended family bought three new McCaffrey homes last year. Gina Estrada, her daughter Staci, and her brother Clinton each found a home that meets their needs with the diverse home plans offered by McCaffrey Homes. Within weeks of each other, the extended Estrada family moved into their three new homes within Hillside Village.
Gina and her husband downsized from a larger home in Fresno and bought a McCaffrey Home from the Ivy collection with the flexible Idea Room that fit their needs. Her mother moved in with them and their new home accommodates this arrangement quite nicely. The Idea Room has made a perfect at-home office where Gina and her mother can work – her mother works in her retirement, and it provides a perfect space for her to do her work.
“The home is so well designed and constructed – my mom is on one side of the house, and I can’t hear her at all,” she says. “It’s cozy and easy to manage and the kitchen is well-appointed.”
Extensive plans are under way for Gina’s backyard. With a swim-spa that will accommodate her early morning exercise, a seating area with fireplace, dog area, fruit trees and a lattice lawn – Gina’s new backyard will be a private oasis.
Gina is also thrilled to be near family that includes her two grandchildren, Lily, 9, and Noah, 5, as well as her 10-year-old niece Stephanie. All three children attend the new Hillside Elementary School.
“Being that there are four generations of my family living at Tesoro Viejo, we have become much closer,” said Staci Valdivia, Gina Estrada’s daughter. “We have spent so much more time outdoors because not only is it beautiful, but we are comfortable with having our children play safely outside.”
Staci and her husband, Adam, bought the Bryce model in McCaffrey Homes’ Altura collection. With two school-aged children, she says the home fits the needs of their family, pointing out that the kitchen and living room space with extended island is the perfect place for entertaining, homework and dinner.
They didn’t waste any time making the home theirs with a newly installed rustic wood wall in the living room that has transformed the space, she says. They opted for a premium lot, and they can’t wait to spend time in their newly landscaped backyard.
“The amount of cabinet space in the kitchen is so abundant,” Staci says. “I still have empty drawers and cabinets!”
For Gina’s brother, Clinton Peterson, Tesoro Viejo is exactly the kind of community in which they wanted to raise their youngest daughter. He moved into a Laina home from the Altura collection with his wife, Kristi, and two daughters.
“What’s not to like? We go to the neighborhood parks every evening and let our daughter run around and play,” Clinton says.
Gina loves that at any given time, she will see her family in the Town Center or in the parks. She looks forward to spending a lot of family time at the Ranch House – the new, resort-style clubhouse – and envisions many nights enjoying conversation around the fire pits.
Clinton says they also enjoy the walking trails with their dog, and they look forward to spending a lot of time at the new clubhouse, as well as getting to know their neighbors.
And they have been actively recruiting those neighbors – one set of friends are moving in across the street and another set of friends bought a home just a few doors down from them.
Gina looks forward to meeting even more new neighbors and making new friends – another big perk of being one of the first residents at the new Tesoro Viejo master-planned community.
McCaffrey Homes is pleased to offer a diversity of plans at Tesoro Viejo. Along with the Altura and Ivy Collections, which fit the needs of the extended Estrada family, McCaffrey also offers the Oaks and Hickory Collections.
